Welcome back. I'm busy doing my homeschool planning for next year but I'll be here occasionally keeping you updated. You may find just what you came for and if you don't, then keep checking back!
It’s Tuesday, and time again for another Tuesday Tradition. I never really knew if I could keep this going, but doing this has taught me that my husband and I are fairly intentional with the things that we do as a family and happen to have lots of traditions to share. I know that you, dear readers, have something that you could share – so why wait? There is so much to learn from each other. (See Mr. Linky below if you want to join today.)
With that said, today’s tradition was started by my loving husband in ‘02. He has taught me so many things. One thing is having open communication with each other is essential. It’s not that hard for me because he is my best friend and I want to tell him everything, but when life deals me a stinky card and I forget about who I love the most, sometimes communication gets thrown out the window.

So, we have this red book that sits on our dresser. It was a gift from him for my birthday in ‘02 and it is a beautifully stamped, red, leather-bound book with handmade paper, pressed with real flowers and a cord that keeps it shut tight. I know exactly where he bought it, it’s from our favorite store that we always like to go window shop. We write notes in it to each other. The good, the bad and the ugly. It’s all here. It’s mostly mushy stuff, you know the kind of stuff that you hid your eyes from when you were 5. Sure, we let it go for a while, but the reminder of our openness to whatever the other person wants to say is right there greeting us every day.

It is a pretty book! We just use a regular spiral-bound notebook with our girls. Something about men’s handwriting though, one year I was cleaning out a drawer and I found a letter from my grandfather. It didn’t say much, but the minute I saw his handwriting-I was crushed to tears-he was such a wonderful grandpa. Love your Tuesday traditions! Keep sharing!

Oh my gosh, I love this idea. My husband actively works at being more romantic and continually tries to do things for me. I’m going to forward him this post. Thanks for the idea!
And thanks for sharing with BPOTW!
