Welcome back. I'm busy doing my homeschool planning for next year but I'll be here occasionally keeping you updated. You may find just what you came for and if you don't, then keep checking back!

Another homeschool philosophy that I love is Ms. Charlotte Mason’s teachings.  A few of her ideas that we use in our homeschool are narration, short lessons, nature study, art study, composer study and dictation.  If these concepts seem foreign to you, check out my first link that explains what a Charlotte Mason education looks like.  The rest are links to resources that compliment a CM education.

  • What is a Charlotte Mason education? - The Charlotte Mason method is also known as the “living books” method, which incorporates whole books and literature rather then dry text books.  To read more about her philosophy, click on the link.
  • Beautiful Feet History of Classical Music -The 75 lessons in this curriculum move through classical music starting with Corelli in the Baroque Period and going all the way to Stravinsky in the Modern Era.
  • Honey for a Child’s Heart - This book is a treasure trove of wisdom regarding the use and impact of books on a child’s life, and it contains excellent lists of book recommendations.
  • Pocketfull of Pinecones - I love love love this book.  Whether or not you use the methods of Charlotte Mason or incorporate nature study into your own homeschool, this book makes for a welcome escape to a simpler time and place.
  • Handbook of Nature Study - Don’t let the size of this book scare you.  This is an excellent resource to anyone wanting to incorporate nature studies into their homeschool.
  • The Easy Spanish - If you are looking for a Spanish program for your family and you want it to have a Charlotte Mason flair, this program is worth looking into.
  • Living MathMost families use Living Math as a supplement to their existing math programs and textbooks.
